Kurī Club has been created to give our members exceptional value, greater convenience and a premium experience across our daycare, hotel, grooming and other pet care services.
These terms explain how Kurī Club works. We have tried to keep them clear and straightforward. Our intention is always to treat members fairly and provide an exceptional experience, provided the membership is used responsibly and remains right for the dog.
By joining Kurī Club, you agree to these terms, together with the standard policies and service terms of your Pets In The City branch.

1. About Kurī Club
Kurī Club is a recurring paid membership that provides eligible members with access to selected benefits, services, discounts and privileges.
Membership benefits include:
- Unlimited daycare
- Discount on hotel stays (50% off)
- 30% off all grooming services
- One free treat bag per week
- 50% off eligible add-on Services
- Complimentary hotel suite upgrades (when available)
- One free bath per week
- Nail trims as needed
- Priority waitlist access for hotel stays
- No standard booking cancellation fees. Where this benefit applies, Kurī Club members will not be charged the standard Pets In The City cancellation fee for eligible service bookings. This does not remove the notice requirements that apply when cancelling a Kurī Club membership.
- Kurī Club members are not required to pay the standard advance deposit for eligible hotel bookings. The member remains responsible for the full cost of the stay and any applicable additional services.
- No standard early check-in or late check-out fees for eligible Hotel stays, where the requested times fall within the branch's available check-in and collection arrangements.
- Access to our Partner Portal with exclusive discounts at our Pets In The City Partners.
- Daily WhatsApp updates while your dog is in our care.
Kurī Club benefits are personal to the registered dog and owner and cannot be exchanged for cash.
Kurī Club membership is administered by the member’s home branch. Membership benefits apply at the home branch unless Pets In The City expressly confirms that a particular benefit may be used at another participating location.
2. Membership Eligibility
Kurī Club is available by invitation or approved application only.
Submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance.
To be eligible, a dog must:
- Have successfully completed the current Pets In The City behavioural assessment;
- Have an established and positive attendance history with Pets In The City;
- Meet all current vaccination, parasite prevention and health requirements;
- Meet the applicable desexing requirements;
- Be suitable for the services included in the membership;
- Remain safe and comfortable within the Pets In The City environment; and
- Belong to a customer whose account is in good standing.
Unless otherwise approved by management, dogs must generally be at least five months old and have completed a minimum of five successful daycare visits before joining.
There is no fixed maximum age. Older dogs may remain members for as long as membership continues to support their health, comfort and wellbeing.
Membership numbers may be limited to protect service quality, availability and the overall member experience. Applicants may be placed on a waiting list where membership capacity has been reached.
Final decisions regarding membership acceptance, renewal, suspension and termination remain with Pets In The City management.
3. One Membership Per Dog
Each membership applies to one specifically registered dog.
Memberships:
- Cannot be shared between dogs;
- Cannot be transferred to another dog;
- Cannot be transferred to another owner if the dog changes ownership;
- Cannot be shared with friends, family members or other customers; and
- Cannot be used by commercial dog walkers, breeders, foster organisations or similar businesses to rotate different dogs through one membership.
A customer may hold separate Kurī Club memberships for more than one eligible dog.
4. Initial Membership Term
Kurī Club has an initial minimum membership term of 12 weeks.
You may submit a cancellation request during the initial term. However, the cancellation will not take effect until the later of:
- The end of the initial 12-week term; or
- The completion of the required four-week cancellation notice period.
After the initial term, membership continues on a recurring basis until cancelled in accordance with these terms.
5. Membership Fees and Payments
Membership fees will be charged using the payment frequency confirmed when you join.
You must maintain a valid payment method and ensure payments can be processed when due.
If a payment is declined or overdue, we may:
- Contact you to arrange payment;
- Retry the payment;
- Temporarily suspend membership access and benefits; or
- Cancel the membership if payment remains outstanding.
You remain responsible for any unpaid membership fees or other charges incurred on your account.
Payments already made for an active billing period are non-refundable and will not normally be prorated, except where required by law or expressly agreed by Pets In The City.
6. Twelve-Month Price Lock
The membership price applying when you join will be locked for your first 12 months of continuous membership.
The price lock does not apply where a change is required because of:
- A change in law or tax treatment;
- A clear administrative or pricing error; or
- A change you request to your membership type or included services.
After the first 12 months, we may change the membership price by providing at least 30 days’ written notice.
If you do not wish to continue at the new price, you may cancel your membership in accordance with the cancellation terms.
7. Unlimited Daycare Access
Where unlimited daycare is included, membership provides one eligible daycare attendance per operating day.
An attendance may be a full-day or part-day attendance. Multiple separate drop-offs on the same day are not included unless approved by the Branch Manager.
Unlimited daycare:
- Applies only during the branch’s normal daycare operating hours;
- Does not override behavioural, health or welfare decisions; and
- Does not include days when the branch is closed.
8. Other Member Benefits
Discounts and complimentary benefits apply to eligible services purchased for the registered Kurī Club dog and cannot be combined with another discount or promotional offer unless we say otherwise.
Where a benefit is described as weekly, the entitlement expires at the end of the applicable membership week and does not accumulate or carry over.
Partner discounts and third-party offers are subject to the participating partner’s own terms, availability and eligibility requirements.
Specific benefits may also be subject to the operational requirements described in these terms.
Percentage discounts apply to the standard service charge for the registered dog unless otherwise stated. Additional charges, third-party costs and retail products are excluded unless expressly included.
Where included, WhatsApp updates will generally be provided on days the registered dog attends an eligible daycare or hotel service. Timing and content may vary depending on operational requirements.
9. Priority Booking for Hotel
Where priority booking is included, members may receive earlier or preferential access to selected high-demand periods.
Priority booking does not guarantee availability.
All bookings remain subject to:
- Capacity;
- The dog’s suitability for the requested service;
- Applicable booking rules;
- Payment requirements applicable to the booking; and
- Any blackout dates or operational restrictions.
Priority booking benefits may require members to book within a specified advance booking window.
10. Public Holidays and Closure Days
Membership fees continue during:
- Public holidays;
- Planned branch closure days;
- Days the member chooses not to attend;
- Periods when the dog is unavailable, unless an approved membership pause applies; and
- Days on which a particular benefit is not used.
Unused daycare days, services or benefits do not accumulate and cannot be carried forward, exchanged or converted into a refund or account credit.
If Pets In The City experiences an unexpected extended closure, we may provide an appropriate credit, extension or alternative arrangement at our discretion, taking into account the circumstances and the effect on members.
11. Complimentary Baths
Where a complimentary weekly bath is included, it is intended as a basic maintenance bath and is not a full grooming service.
The bath:
- Must take place during an eligible daycare or hotel attendance;
- Is subject to staffing and operational availability;
- Is subject to the dog being safe and suitable for bathing; and
- Does not carry over if it is not used.
Additional charges may apply for services outside the included maintenance bath, including specialist coat care, dematting, extensive brushing, clipping or other grooming services.
Pets In The City may decline or stop a bath if the dog becomes distressed, unsafe or unsuitable for the service.
12. Nail Trimming
Where complimentary nail trimming is included, it may be requested no more than once every 14 days.
Nail trimming will only be carried out where our team considers it safe, appropriate and beneficial for the dog.
The service may be declined or stopped where:
- The dog is distressed or resistant;
- There is a risk of injury;
- The nails do not require trimming;
- The dog requires specialist handling; or
- A veterinary or professional grooming service would be more appropriate.
Complimentary nail trimming is not guaranteed simply because it has been requested.
13. Hotel Suite Upgrades
Where complimentary hotel suite upgrades are included, the benefit provides consideration for an upgrade rather than a guaranteed upgrade.
Upgrades:
- Cannot be confirmed when the original booking is made;
- Are assessed at check-in;
- Depend on real-time availability for the entire stay;
- Depend on the dog’s suitability for the available accommodation; and
- Cannot be exchanged for cash, credit or another benefit if an upgrade is unavailable.
The original accommodation type booked remains payable unless otherwise confirmed.
14. Membership Pauses
You may pause your membership for up to two complete membership weeks during each 12-month period.
The two weeks:
- Do not need to be consecutive;
- Must each be taken as a complete seven-day membership billing period;
- Cannot be divided into individual days; and
- Do not carry over into a later 12-month period.
No reason is required to request a pause.
To request a pause, you must provide at least seven days’ written notice by email or through another approved method provided by your home branch.
While the membership is paused:
- Membership billing will be paused for the approved period;
- Kurī Club benefits will be suspended;
- Member discounts and priority privileges will not apply;
- Benefits cannot be used or booked for dates within the paused period; and
- The membership term and any applicable price-lock period will be extended by the length of the pause.
Pause requests are subject to processing and cannot normally be applied retrospectively.
Additional pauses may be considered in exceptional circumstances, including serious illness or injury, but are not guaranteed.
15. Cancelling Your Membership
You may cancel your membership by giving at least four weeks’ written notice.
Cancellation requests must be submitted by email or through another approved written method provided by your home branch.
Membership fees remain payable throughout the four-week notice period.
You may submit a cancellation request while the membership is paused. However:
- A pause does not replace or reduce the required cancellation notice;
- Any remaining notice-period payments will remain payable; and
- Billing may need to resume to complete the cancellation notice period.
Pets In The City may waive or reduce cancellation payments in exceptional circumstances, but is not required to do so.
Your membership and benefits will remain active until the effective cancellation date, unless the membership is suspended for another reason.
Payments already processed for the current billing period will not be refunded or prorated.
16. Membership Benefits and Fair Use
Kurī Club is designed for genuine personal use by the registered dog and owner.
Members must use the programme reasonably and in accordance with:
- These terms;
- Branch booking procedures;
- Standard Pets In The City policies;
- Staff instructions;
- Health and safety requirements; and
- The welfare needs of the dog.
The following are not considered responsible use:
- Sharing or transferring membership access;
- Making bookings that the member does not intend to use;
- Repeatedly failing to attend bookings without cancelling;
- Attempting to use benefits outside their intended purpose;
- Abusive, threatening or disrespectful behaviour toward team members or other customers;
- Misrepresenting information about the dog, owner or membership use; or
- Using the membership in a way that negatively affects the experience, safety or access of others.
We will always try to resolve fair-use concerns through a conversation first, unless the issue is serious or urgent.
17. Rest Days and Dog Welfare
Unlimited attendance does not mean that daily attendance will always be appropriate for every dog.
Our team may require a dog to take one or more rest days where we reasonably believe this is necessary to:
- Manage fatigue;
- Reduce anxiety or overarousal;
- Support behavioural wellbeing;
- Protect recovery from illness or injury;
- Protect other dogs or team members; or
- Ensure continued suitability for group care.
A mandatory rest day is a welfare decision and is not a punishment.
Rest days do not normally result in a refund, credit or replacement day.
Where ongoing attendance is no longer in the dog’s best interests, we will speak with the owner about alternative attendance arrangements or whether Kurī Club remains suitable.
18. Ongoing Health and Behaviour Requirements
Dogs must continue to meet all applicable health, vaccination, parasite prevention, behaviour and safety requirements throughout their membership.
You must promptly tell us about:
- Illness or injury;
- Changes in medication;
- Veterinary restrictions;
- Behavioural changes;
- Changes in mobility or physical ability;
- Any incident involving aggression or biting; or
- Any other change that may affect the dog’s suitability for our services.
We may require:
- Updated vaccination or veterinary information;
- A new behavioural assessment;
- A temporary break from attendance;
- Modified attendance arrangements; or
- The suspension or cancellation of membership.
Our decisions will be guided by the safety and welfare of the member dog, other dogs and our team.
19. Late Collection
Dogs must be collected within the branch’s published operating hours.
If a dog is not collected by closing time, Pets In The City may arrange overnight care where it is safe, suitable and operationally possible.
The customer will be responsible for:
- The applicable overnight accommodation fee;
- Any published late collection fee;
- Any additional care costs reasonably incurred; and
- Collection during the branch’s next available operating hours.
Kurī Club hotel discounts may apply where the dog is eligible, but overnight accommodation cannot be guaranteed.
Repeated late collection may result in membership suspension or cancellation.
20. Suspension or Termination by Pets In The City
We may temporarily suspend or permanently terminate a membership where reasonably necessary.
We will exercise this right reasonably and with regard to the individual circumstances, the welfare of the dog and the interests of the wider Pets In The City community.
Reasons may include:
- The dog no longer meeting health, behaviour or safety requirements;
- The membership no longer being appropriate for the dog’s welfare;
- Non-payment or repeated failed payments;
- Serious or repeated breaches of these terms;
- Misuse of membership benefits;
- Abusive, threatening or inappropriate customer behaviour;
- Fraud or material misrepresentation;
- Repeated failure to follow booking procedures or staff instructions;
- Repeated late collection; or
- Operational, capacity or commercial reasons.
Where practical, we will raise concerns with the member and provide an opportunity to resolve them before cancelling membership.
Immediate suspension or termination may occur where there is a serious safety concern, serious misconduct, abuse, fraud or another urgent issue.
Where we end a membership for operational, capacity or commercial reasons unrelated to the member’s conduct or the dog’s suitability, we will provide reasonable notice and will not charge membership fees beyond the termination date.
Where a membership is terminated because of serious misconduct, non-payment or a serious policy breach, fees already paid will not normally be refunded.
21. Changes to Membership Benefits
We may reasonably amend, replace or withdraw a membership benefit where necessary because of:
- Operational requirements;
- Safety or welfare concerns;
- Supplier or service availability;
- Changes to branch facilities;
- Changes to law;
- Changes to the structure of the Kurī Club programme; or
- Other reasonable commercial circumstances.
We will aim to ensure that Kurī Club continues to provide strong overall value.
Where a change materially reduces the overall value of membership, we will provide reasonable advance notice wherever practical.
Minor operational changes may take effect immediately.
22. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time.
Where a change materially affects your membership, we will provide reasonable written notice before the change takes effect.
Changes required for legal, health, safety or urgent operational reasons may take effect sooner.
Continuing to use the membership after an updated term takes effect will mean you accept the updated terms.
Nothing in this section overrides the 12-month price-lock commitment described in these terms.
23. Communication
Important membership notices may be sent using the contact details recorded on your account.
You are responsible for keeping your:
- Email address;
- Phone number;
- Payment information; and
- Dog’s health and care information
up to date.
Written notice from a member is treated as received when it reaches the approved email address or communication channel of the member’s home branch.
24. Owner Responsibilities
You remain responsible for:
- Providing accurate information about your dog;
- Following all Pets In The City policies;
- Ensuring your dog is fit to attend;
- Providing required medication, food or care instructions;
- Paying charges not included in the membership;
- Collecting your dog on time;
- Maintaining current contact and payment details; and
- Informing us of anything that may affect your dog’s care or suitability.
Kurī Club membership does not replace the standard service terms applying to daycare, hotel, grooming, training or any other Pets In The City service.
If there is an inconsistency, these Kurī Club terms apply to the membership itself, while the relevant service terms continue to apply to the service being provided.
25. Consumer Rights
Nothing in these terms is intended to exclude, restrict or modify any right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under New Zealand law.
Where these terms are inconsistent with a right you have under applicable consumer law, that legal right will apply.
26. Questions, Concerns and Complaints
We want Kurī Club members to have an exceptional experience.
If you have a question, concern or complaint, please speak with your home branch so we can work with you to resolve it.
