What are your vaccination (and health) requirements?
Dogs must be at least 16 weeks (4 months) old and fully vaccinated before attending daycare or group play environments at Pets In The City. Puppies younger than this cannot be admitted, even if partially vaccinated. These requirements align with SPCA Certified Animal Welfare Standards for Dog Daycare Facilities. Kennel Cough and Canine Leptospirosis need to be given yearly, and Vanguard 5/DHPPI every three years. You will need to upload a photo or scan of your dog's latest vaccination information…
Does my dog need to be desexed?
Generally, yes. All dogs over 12 months old must be spayed or neutered to attend. However, we understand that vet recommendations vary, especially for large breeds. If your dog is over 12 months but not yet desexed, we assess them based on behaviour. If they remain social and safe, they may continue attending. However, if we observe hormone-driven behaviours (humping, marking, rough play), we will discuss the next steps with you. Note: Females in heat strictly cannot attend.
Do I need to book daycare in advance?
Yes, we prefer you book play days in advance to ensure we have space. The easiest way to book is through our Online Parent Portal or mobile app.
Does my dog need an assessment (interview)?
Yes. Before joining the pack, your dog will need to complete an assessment with a Senior Caregiver. We recommend booking a half or full day so your dog has time to settle in and show their true personality. You don't need to stay — drop them off and we'll give you a full report upon pick-up!
How do I apply for the first time?
