Frequently asked questions
What are your vaccination (and health) requirements?
Dogs must be at least 16 weeks (4 months) old and fully vaccinated before attending daycare or group play environments at Pets In The City. Puppies younger than this cannot be admitted, even if partially vaccinated. These requirements align with SPCA Certified Animal Welfare Standards for Dog Daycare Facilities. Kennel Cough and Canine Leptospirosis need to be given yearly, and Vanguard 5/DHPPI every three years. You will need to upload a photo or scan of your dog's latest vaccination information…
Is the cat hotel separate from the dogs?
Yes. Our cat hotel in Parnell (Central Bark) is a fully separate environment. We ensure there is no visual contact with dogs and minimize noise transfer to keep the space peaceful.
Do I need to bring my own cat food?
You have the option to use our premium food or bring your own (BYO). If your cat has a sensitive stomach or specific dietary requirement, we highly recommend bringing the food they are used to.
What are your opening hours?
We're open Monday to Friday from 6:30am to 7:00pm, and Saturday, Sunday & Public Holidays from 7:00am to 6:00pm. We are closed for pick up & drop off on Good Friday, Easter Sunday, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year's Day, and the Day after New Year's Day.
What is SPCA Certified status?
SPCA Certified is an independent accreditation recognising high standards of animal welfare and care. Central Bark is one of only two dog daycares in New Zealand to earn this status. The certification confirms our daycare meets audited standards for behaviour assessments, safe grouping, trained supervision, structured rest, enrichment, hygiene, and overall welfare.
Do you offer family discounts for the Dog Hotel?
Yes! Dogs from the same family sharing an apartment will receive $5 off each night for the second dog, and $10 off per night for the third dog (or more).
What are the Dog Hotel check-in/check-out times?
Check-in: 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM Check-out: By 12:00 PM (Noon) Early check-ins or late check-outs are available for a $25.00 fee.
